Im looking for a summary about the Discovery of the Americas?

im doing a school summer project and one of the assignments is about the 10 most important events in history from 1400-2010..... i chose the discovery of america as one of the 10 but i cant think of a good summary right now my head hurts like crazy and i've been working on this all night i dont know what to do anymore and is due tomorrow...all the help i can get would be great...thanks
