PLEASE HELP NOW!! College Loans?

I want to go the University of southern Mississipi and i have no scholarships and little financial aid. When i checked my financial aid summary it said for my family contribution that we have to pay 5000 dollars and i was wondering would they let me as a student pay that through loans or does my family have to open a parent student loan? My family can't afford it and i need to be able to pay that somehow.. could i pay it with my student loan? Please Help
