Why are hunky cops (and others) so modest, its like they don't even know they are good looking?

I find hunky cops (and others), seem to suffer from self esteem issues esp when it comes to good looking women, they lack total confidence. They don't think a good looking women would like them, (I think, what is wrong with these guys), and God forbid you should be interested in them, they suspect there is something wrong with you! What is wrong with these guys?
