How is tomato supplied from the farm to the supermarkets?

Alright first the tomatoes are farmed, then they are transported into a big factory that secrete bad tomatoes from good tomatoes and then they are packed in packages and all this and then they are kept cool for some day until they are shipped out to the supermarket. And if you are in the healthy thinking way. Then it's not the way it's transported you should care about then it's the way it's "bred" (cannot the right term for that). some are fore example poison sprayed to keep bugs away and let them stay "healthy" as long as possible. And some are just raised as the day comes.
