Can someone give me a summary of Pretty Little Liars season 1?

A lot of people have been talking about the show but I've never really cared too much to watch it. Some of my friends keep telling me to watch it so I watched the season 2 premiere and had no idea what was going on. Can someone give me a summary of season 1 so I can be caught up with everything?
