Does he like me or are we just friends? *kinda long*?

So for the past few weeks I've been liking this boy. He got into my class and we started looking at me and this went on for a week before we did this school event together and he said that i was his "friend" which is all hunky dory because i don't mind being his friend, but i ended up getting his number and texting him first (was that a mistake) we laughed and joked about the situation and after a while he told me that i should hang out with him and his friends and i did. (I'm a very shy person around boys) so we talked a little and laughed and joked and when it was time to go to class we left at the same time but he stopped off to do something so i kept walking back to the school (we went to a place like...5 blocks from school) and when we get close to the school he calls my name and tells me to wait for him so that he can catch up (blushes) We walk back to school together and we talk about alot of things (he also asked me what my dreams were and what i want to do with life and since we both love music we talked about that) So we've hung out a few more times but when i asked him to hang out with me and my friends he never would, and then every time we text i tend to be the first one to text him, we were even supposed to go to the movies (after i said how i wanted to go and no one wanted to go with me) so it's like I'm putting more effort into this then he is, i texted him yesterday and he hasn't replied *he's done that before but only when he was really really mad* and i had to tell him that i can't go to the movies that day because something came up (have to go outta town with family) I don't know what to do and he told me "Umm,...ok just call me when you want to hang out" (i think he's a little mad but this also happened on the day i asked if he wanted to hang out and he told me no and i think he thinks that i canceled because i was mad but i really wasn't!) i mean i really like this guy and i feel like he likes me too but i feel like I've really messed up somewhere along the way......What should i do?
